Context
SwiftSchool began when one school needed a better way to run its daily administration. That initial request became a Mfidie Solutions product for school administrators, teachers and parents. Each group uses its own dashboard in the Android and iOS applications. The platform now supports 12 schools and holds more than 3,000 student records, according to internal product records. Its purpose is practical: help a school run academic and administrative work without asking families and staff to chase information in different places.
The problem
Running a school involves more than keeping a list of pupils. The office needs to know what each family has been billed, which payments have been recorded and which receipts have been issued. Teachers need attendance and academic records. Parents need timely information without making a trip to the school for every question. When these activities are managed separately, staff must reconcile records and repeat routine work. The first school needed a system that brought those responsibilities together. As the product expanded, another challenge appeared: administrators, teachers and parents all needed different views of the same school information. A useful school system must accommodate those different jobs without forcing everyone through the same screens. It must also keep improving as schools request new features, while remaining usable on Android and iOS.
Our contribution
Mfidie Solutions conceived and developed SwiftSchool as its own product. The team built student and parent records, fee management, invoices and receipts, mobile money payment support, attendance, academic reports, announcements, SMS notifications, school onboarding and role-based access. Administrators, teachers and parents use separate dashboards on the mobile applications. The work includes maintaining the product and releasing features for schools already using it.
Approach
The product started with the workflows of a real school rather than a generic list of software features. A school manages fees and related records inside the system; staff can work with invoices and receipts alongside student information. Teachers use academic and attendance functions, while parents can access information through their own dashboard. Permissions distinguish the tasks of each user group. Building for several schools also meant treating feature rollout as continuing product work, not a one-off delivery. We maintain a common product while bringing requested improvements into use across schools.
Challenges
- Getting the application working for Android and iOS users was a substantial development challenge. The team had to support both mobile environments and separate dashboards for different users.
- As more schools joined, releasing requested features quickly became difficult. The team made ongoing development and rollout part of how SwiftSchool is operated, rather than treating launch as the end of the project.
Outcomes
SwiftSchool is live with 12 schools using it. As of October 2026, 3,261 student records are managed on the platform. School staff can handle fee administration, attendance, academic records and communications in the same product, while parents and teachers use dashboards suited to their responsibilities.
